If you're not receiving your phone verification code, work through these steps in order:
Start with the basics
Check that you live in a supported country. Review the list of countries we support. If your country isn't listed, we can't send you a verification code by text.
Make sure you're using a mobile number. Landline, WiFi, and VOIP numbers can't receive our verification codes, and you can't verify using an email address.
If those check out, try these
Wait a few minutes. Verification codes sometimes take a minute or two to arrive.
Text START to 617-202-2503, then request a new code. This confirms you're subscribed, in case you missed a previous message or got unsubscribed by accident.
Resend the verification code and give it another 1 to 2 minutes.
Still nothing?
At this point, your phone or your carrier is usually the cause.
Restart your phone - This can clear occasional network hiccups that may block incoming texts.
Check for a second number on your device - If you have two phone numbers on one device (dual SIM or eSIM), make sure you're checking the correct number and that it's the one active for text messages.
Try another phone if you can - If a code comes through on a different phone, the issue is with your original device or carrier.
Contact your mobile carrier - Some carriers, especially prepaid or budget providers, filter or delay texts from business and short code numbers. Your carrier can confirm whether this is happening and help you allow messages from our number.
